Today it was revealed that Brazilian fighter Daiane Silva, who was making her Bellator/PFL debut, fell into a coma during a rapid extreme weight cut.
The news was confirmed by Cris Cyborg’s MMA promotion
This tragedy occured a full month ago but is just making public headlines today.
In a concerning twist to this tragedy MMA reporter Drake Riggs has tweeted that “It’s been kept under wraps because PFL and employees have been explicitly told not to talk about it”.
This is the latest story in a long line of rapid extreme weight cut serious injuries and even deaths in MMA.
I have reached out to PFL and Donn Davis about these allegations against them for comment. I will update this article if they reply.
