Update – Nevada has now responded to my public records request. Here are their full Covid 19 Protocols NSAC PROTOCOLS PCR ONLY FOR EVENTS WITHOUT FANS

Today the Nevada Athletic Commission (“NAC”) cleared the way for combat sports events to proceed in the State during the ongoing pandemic.
Specifically they approved “COVID-19 protocols, for events held without the presence of a live audience“. These protocols are not published anywhere and it is unclear exactly what safety protocols promoters wishing to host events must follow. I have made a public records request for these and will update this article once these are obtained.
The NAC also gave the green light for the UFC to host two upcoming MMA events and for Top Rank to host two boxing cards.
The UFC was given permission “for a program permit to promote a professional mixed martial arts event, to be held on May 30, 2020 at UFC Apex, in Las Vegas, NV” and “for a program permit to promote a professional mixed martial arts event, to be held on June 6, 2020 at UFC Apex, in Las Vegas, NV“.
Top Rank was cleared “for a program permit to promote a professional boxing event, to be held on June 9, 2020 at MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, NV” and “for a program permit to promote a professional boxing event, to be held on June 11, 2020 at MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, NV“.
Both the UFC and Top Rank have created their own operations plans for these events. During the hearing it was revealed that Top Ranks plans were not fully complete but this did not prevent the NAC from clearing the event to proceed.
