Heavyweight Boxer Ardi Ndembo Dies Following Brain Injury in Team Combat League Event

Team Combat League is a relatively new venture where boxers compete in teams. The teams face each other with boxers fighting in one round bouts. Some are scheduled to have more than one such bout in a single day.

Today it is reported that Heavyweight Ardi Ndembo died after suffering a knockout loss in a bout on April 5, 2024 in Miami.

He was unconscious for several minutes following his loss and placed in an induced coma. He remained in a coma until he passed away.

Ndembo was scheduled to have a second bout on the same card where he sustained his fatal injury.

Ndembo has an undefeated 8-0 record in professional boxing rules. Team Combat League is treated as a seperate sport by BoxRec for official record keeping purposes and this bout was his debut in Team Combat.

Ndemo was 27. He had two children.

A GoFundMe has been launched to help his family in their time of need.
