Last week the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission was asked to give One Championship a promoters licence and to grant them 10 rule variations so they can host an event in the State using their ‘global’ ruleset.
Today a local official familiar with the matter confirmed to me that Georgia has approved these requests and ONE has a fight on the books for 11/8/24.
Colorado as the first US commission to allow ONE to host an event in their jurisdiction with their Global rules. Withw Georgia doing so as well the landscape is now easier for other commissions to follow.
Among the rule changes that were asked for were legal 12-6 elbows, knees to the head of a grounded opponent and more.
